- As Western influence continues to wane in Africa, the Biden administration said more than 1,000 American troops will leave Niger in the coming months. According to a senior State Department official, the US was also unhappy with Niger for turning towards Iran for a possible deal on its uranium reserves. The US risks losing its military presence in another African country as the Chad government sent a letter threatening to end a critical security agreement. More than 10,000 troops have been trained in the CAR* with help from Russian instructors, said CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadera. Watch the video to find out more.
